After the success of the first Leeds Print Festival in January 2012 it was a real honour to be invited back to be involved with Pop Up Print —a two day hands on printing event held at Mexico Project Space in Leeds.
For our sins we produced this 99 x 210mm letterpress ‘keepsake’—which utilised a slew of rules and borders we’d been squirreling away for some time. Set at a tricky angle this job really really pushed our buttons (!!), but we’ll happily forget that as we’re more than happy with the results, which were printed onto 700gsm Colorplan Pristine White in a Pantone Fluorescent Orange.
This thing really POPS! If you look at the images from varying angles you can really see what we mean!
As well as producing the keepsake we ran an all day drop in letterpress workshop—which allowed people to get their hands on our type, ink and presses. It went incredibly well and we’ll be doing a blog post about that soon.
