We had a quick visit to the Bradford Industrial Museum today which is an absolute treasure trove of Jowett Cars & Vans, Trolley Buses, steam engines and other items from Bradford’s past. But for us, the best bit is the Printing Gallery (no surprises there).
The working exhibits include a bright blue Arab Platen, a Stanhope, an excellent Wharfedale, a beautiful Columbian, a very tasty FAG Standard, some rather large Harrild’s, a Ludlow Typecaster and a couple of Monotype’s (awaiting restoration), plus mountains of type and other presses awaiting to be put back into action (including a peculiar Adana Foolscap Press).
This lovely video was playing in the printing gallery today and was made by Charlotte Taylor.
